Certificate of Current Competence

Certification of current competence is integral to the award of CITP status. A current certificate assures employers that the holder of CITP status is up to date with developments in the IT profession and particularly in their specialist area.

A Certificate of Current Competence is awarded on admission to the Register of Chartered IT Professionals and is valid for 5 years as long as the holder continues to be a member of a professional body able to award CITP status.

At the end of each five year period holders of CITP status must apply to revalidate their certificate of current competence. Each new certificate issued will be valid for a further 5 years.
