Ethics is fundamental to professionalism, informing both behaviour and practice and is at the core of BCS and relevant to all members, as set out in the BCS Code of Conduct.
The ICT Ethics Specialist Group has as its focus the ethical implications of ICT provision, use and development. Raising awareness of, and attending to, the ethical aspects of ICT is becoming increasingly important given its ubiquitous nature and role and society; rapid rate of technology innovation and convergence; in order to maintain the reputational standards of the profession and build public confidence in ICT.
This Group aims to provide the means of gaining wider input and engagement from ICT professionals, across the variety of IT roles, in addressing the range of issues and dilemmas facing professionals in today's rapidly evolving technology environment.
