Welcome to the Data Centre Specialist Group website

The BCS Data Centre Specialist Group is a volunteer member group of BCS that brings together practitioners working in the evolving data centre sector.

Data Centres are at the heart of the internet and enable the digital economy, including the concepts of smart-cities and smart-grids and they will continue to evolve and expand as our demands, in both social and business contexts, for digital content and services grow.

The group is led by an elected committee of members who plan a wide range of events covering all aspects of data centres. Many of the group’s events are free to attend, and some are hosted online and recorded for the benefit of those unable to attend in person.

The group actively supports the EU Code of Conduct, liaises with professional and regulatory bodies, represents BCS at conferences, contributes articles to leading trade magazines and facilitates online discussion forums such as the Data Centre Specialist Group LinkedIn Group.

EU Code of Conduct
DCSG are very active in maintaining and updating the EU Code of Conduct for Data Centres. The documents are updated annually and the latest revisions can be downloaded from the EU-JRC Institute for Energy and Transport website.
