He is a leading expert in the field of high performance data centres and is a well respected presenter at international conferences. He is known for cutting through the 'fog' that sometimes surrounds data centre topics and thus highlighting and dispelling many common misconceptions.

I own and run Carbon3IT Ltd, a sustainable IT consultancy. We provide IT energy auditing software and physical smart metering solutions. We also provide Sustainable IT consultancy. I have recently completed a BSc in Technology with Environment and Development with the Open University. I have been in the industry since 1981 when I started my apprenticeship with BT, I have bid and project management experience, am a certified PRINCE 2 practitioner, hold the ISEB/BCS Foundation Certificate in Green IT & the EU Code of Conduct for Data Centres I live in a tiny village outside of Warwick. Gary started his career in High Power Electrical Engineering, and moved across into Telecommunications & IT 30 years ago. He has been involved in the development & support of some very large data networks and in the roll-out of European cellular networks.
Until 2013 he was a major shareholder in the leading independent global provider of data centre & telecommunications training where he played a central role in the development of internationally recognised qualifications such as Certified Data Centre Design Professional (CDCDP), Certified Data Centre Management Professional (CDCMP) and Certified Data Centre Energy Professional (CDCEP), as well as working with the European Commission and the US Department of Energy (DoE) on piloting new data centre energy efficiency initiatives.
He is currently involved in attracting young talent into the IT & communications sector and in developing learning & development programmes to meet the present & future needs of the industry.

Mark represents Norland Managed Services as Critical Products Director.
With over 25 years experience in the IT industry Mark has specialised in the field of Data Centre Operations for over 15 years, concentrating on the delivery of business critical services from highly reliable, world class 24x365 Data Centres. This has included consultancy and technical advice as well as senior management roles responsible for service delivery and both strategic and operational management within the industry. A Technical Operations Manager with extensive international experience and solid technical skills covering both Data Centre Facilities Design and IT Operational and Technical Management.
A regular public speaker and industry advisor on data centre technical issues, currently acting as consultant to a number of data centre operators and solutions developers.

Derek first became involved in IT in 1979 at Ford Motor Company, in the European HQ and then overseas. Since 1987, he has sold IT solutions, with a focus on the Finance Industry and Data Centres. He has held Sales Director responsibility for Europe, Middle East, Africa and China. He is now working with a startup spunout from Warwick University which produces a Data Centre Infrastructure Management solution.

Peter is a respected thought leader and expert in the field of energy efficiency in data centres and IT. He has been a long term committee member of both the DCSG and Green IT SG. He is currently the CTO and CEO of Iceotope, an innovative "total liquid cooling" technology company backed by, amongst others, Schneider Electric and Solvay. Peter's objective at Iceotope is not only to dramatically change the energy efficiency in the industry, but to disrupt the cost dynamics by obsoleting air from the data centre.

Liam Newcombe, with over 14 years experience in IT infrastructure, software development and solution design Liam has delivered services and products used by many of the UK’s biggest businesses. Liam has held a wide variety of roles ranging from operational management to product engineering. Liam is also an advocate of driving up the level of professionalism in the IT industry through the use of sound engineering practices. He has brought to market a number of data centre based product offerings for businesses such as Digital Island and Cable & Wireless. Today Liam consults on solution architecture and enables businesses to truly understand the relationship between their requirements and the way technology can best fulfil those requirements.
