Summary:
Software configuration management is all about being efficient and effective in developing software: avoiding rework, avoiding the waste of expensive engineer's time. Configuration management includes change management, version control and related processes and applies to software and web site development.

Robert will cover design principles that enable faster releases of software systems. These include the design of development processes, the configuration management system and the actual software that you are delivering. Robert will illustrate his talk with case studies, common traps and pitfalls and the application of CM patterns.

Robert has 20 years of experience in the software development field, and now focuses on providing consultancy and training in configuration management and improving development processes.

Robert is also Chair of the BCS Specialist Group for Change, Configuration and Release Management (CMSG).
