Lawley Lecture Theatre, Kingston Hill Campus

Bruce Lawson and Chris Mills, Opera Software

Proliferation of the World Wide Web and its applications over the past two decades has played a significant role in transforming our lives. Add the rapidly growing number and range of Web-enabled devices at hand, and the prospects of changes you are about to see in near future look even more fascinating. Perhaps, this is a good time to reflect on where the technology has taken us so far and what we should focus on (think interoperability and accessibility) to make sure we end up in a better place in the years to come.

The session led by speakers from Opera Software, the Opera Web browser developer company, will focus on the following subjects:

  • History and future of the Web
  • The Web browser industry
  • Open Web standards
  • Mobile Web browsing
