Venue:
Corner House Farm, Burdale Lane, Fimber, Driffield, YO25 9LY

Speaker:
Professor Jim Austin

Description:

Last November Professor Jim Austin talked to us about “Computer Gems” and brought some of the smaller “gems” with him. The Collection raised a lot of interest so we have arranged a visit.

Jim Austin’s collection of computers will be open to view, where short tours, starting just after 2pm, will be on offer. The collection is not set out as a museum, but is easy to walk around. There are many thousands of items, and well over 500 computers. See http://www.computermuseum.org.uk/

Directions: From York it’s about 20 miles. Take the A166 to Stamford Bridge. Continue on the road until Fridaythorpe. Take the first left after the petrol station, to Fimber. On entering Fimber take the first left. Look for Corner House Farm on the left after the church. Limited parking will be available, but parking on the village green outside the entrance to the Farm is ok. If it’s a nice day there are great views.

Numbers are limited to 16 and places will be reserved on a "first come, first served" basis so please reserve your place by emailing (wybranchbcs@googlemail.com) if you would like to attend. You will be advised of your position in the list. Should you need to pull out then please let us know so that your place can be given to the next person on the list.
