AGM Notification Letter (DOC)

Last year’s AGM included our first Pecha Kucha competition, where one of our members, Linda White, won an iPad when her very enjoyable Pecha Kucha presentation “How to woo, wow and win your users” was voted the winner by the attendees.

Well, this year we’re offered an iPad2 to the winner of our second Pecha Kucha competition that ran after the formal part of the evening of 12th October at our AGM.

Never encountered Pecha Kucha before? It’s a fast-moving presentation where each presenter is allowed just twenty slides each shown for 20 seconds before automatically moving the next slide. You can find out more about the concept at http://www.pecha-kucha.org/

This year, we asked participants to deliver their presentation on a given theme. The title must be “Lessons Learnt” and the theme is the future of L&D in IT informed by lessons of the past, but the interpretation of that theme is entirely down to the presenter.

We were looking for 4 finalists to deliver their Pecha Kucha presentations to the membership at the AGM and the entries were judged by the audience for:-

a) Relevance of the presentation to the theme
b) Innovative content
c) Delivery style

Of course, the aim of the evening was to report to the membership on the SG’s progress during the last year and finalise plans for the future, including a very interesting collaboration with SFIA that we have planned for early 2012.
