Abstract:

You don't need to be an avid gamer to be affected by games. This talk will look at how the race to build better games, and better consoles to play them on, is driving forward innovations in computing hardware and software development. Making cutting edge games requires software engineers with cutting edge skills - and students who grew up playing games are keen to acquire them, developing skills which are in high demand across the computing industry.
