A Commercial Perspective on Implementation of the NHS Information Strategy

Date
Thursday 27 May 1999

Venue:
The Board Room, Moorfields Eye Hospital, City Road, London, EC1V 2CD

Speaker:

Roger Wallhouse, Health Systems Solutions Ltd

Part of 'Making the Strategy Work', the year-long series of talks on the 'Information for Health' strategy.

The presentation built upon the talk given by Roger in the LMSG session at HC'99 as reported in the May edition of LMSG News, and expands upon some of the issues identified in the LMSG meeting of January 1999, reported in the March 1999 edition.

Roger presented a series of 'chapters' which reflected those issues.

Roger's initial observation was that only by the extensive use of Information Systems (IS) could the NHS hope to manage in the current economic climate - indeed in any economic climate. This requires that suppliers do a better job and that the healthcare industry makes better use of their products.
