Synopsis:

COBIT 5 is a business framework for the governance and management of enterprise IT that was launched on April 10th 2012. It is a substantial enhancement to COBIT 4.1 incorporating other ISACA frameworks: Val IT, Risk IT and others and it is well aligned with most other well-adopted frameworks and standards used in IT service management. This session will explain the key ideas of COBIT 5: principles, enablers, cascade goals, processes and process capability assessment.

The session will be targeted at experienced IT service management professionals who are seeking to introduce IT governance into their organisation. Those who already know and have deployed COBIT 4.1 will also benefit from seeing how COBIT 5 extends COBIT 4.1.

Dr Geoff Harmer is the principal at Maat Consulting Ltd. Geoff has worked in the IT sector for 29 years and for the last 12 years has been a trainer and consultant specialising in best practices for IT governance and IT service management, particularly COBIT, ITIL, ISO 20000 and ISO 38500.
