Synopsis:

Since code was punched on to ticker tape, the road to delivery of solutions to the operational environment has been haunted by the spectres of failed changes, poorly evaluated risks and surprised customers. With the focus now firmly on managing customer expectations rather than just delivering IT solutions, never before has there been a need for specialists who are capable of dealing with both the development areas and the customer facing business areas of an IT organisation to ensure that change is not just delivered to the production environment, but that customers and the business are managed and engaged to ensure that the delivery is smooth and uneventful.

The Met Office has spent the last 12 months focusing on building such a team of specialists and the benefits are now being realised. This presentation is the story of how we put the team together, what we asked them to do and how they are doing it.

The session will be about 60 minutes with time for questions and discussion. With networking afterwards as part of the normal BCS CMSG hospitality.
