Synopsis:

This free joint BCS Manchester Branch and Learning and Development Specialist Group event is open to everyone and there is no requirement for individuals to book. The event is 6pm refreshments for a 6.30pm start.

Manchester Medical School embarked on an ambitious project to provide iPads to students in the clinical years of the MBChB degree programme. This project was the first of it’s kind outside of the continental US and remains the largest programme of this kind. Colin Lumsden is the Academic Lead for the programme and Lead for eLearning at the medical school. The lecture will discuss the rationale behind the use of tablets in medical education and how they are being used by students in the clinical setting.
