With all the hype and hoopla that’s surrounding the ‘Big Data’ topic, it’s easy to get the impression that a magic new set of technologies has appeared, and only laggards haven’t got some sort of Big Data project going. On the other side are the detractors who claim with equal conviction that it’s all just marketing fluff without substance!

Our IT industry analyst expert Martha Bennett will look at what ‘Big Data’ really is and the definition maze around this subject. Martha will also explore Data growth & existing infrastructures, whether enterprise IT is ready for ‘Big Data’ and finally, technology selection considerations and security implications.

Our case study presentations kick-off with Richard Hodkinson talking about the data management challenges DWF face in such a regulated sector, along with a look at specific practical issues and their remediation.

Steve Deakin will then discuss how MoneySupermarket.com and TravelSupermarket.com uses Big Data to match customers to the right products to save them money.

This event starts at 1.30pm for refreshments & networking.
