Synopsis:

This free RANT Forum and BCS Manchester Branch event is open to all.

It sometimes seems that the only people who value information are the people who want to steal it.

The RANT Forum is looking to go beyond its usual networking event to bring together key people from communities within the IT and Information Security space, the panel will consider why information loss remains a continuing problem and what can be done about it, they will discuss and look to answer some of the key questions around this theme such as;

  • Has good governance failed to prevent information loss or is it just that good information governance has not been implemented?
  • Are organisations simply unaware of what information they have and how to classify it?
  • What are the fundamental technical issues around securing information?
  • Stewardship means taking care of something that you don't own. Is better information stewardship the answer?
