Speaker

Mike Lithgow CBE, a retired Army officer who rose to the rank of Brigadier commanding several thousand ICT and IS professionals in the Royal Signals, is a lifelong Information professional. In the Army his role was to make sure that military units across the world had the information needed for them to put the right troops in the right place at the right time. Information & Communications Technology played an important role, alongside Information Systems. Both had to work reliably across a global arena whether back in HQ or on the front line. Mike acquired enormous experience of acquiring and delivering technology and systems into very diverse and challenging environments.

On leaving the Army Mike joined Gartner, and is Managing Vice President of Gartner for the UK and South Africa, and Head of EMEA Public Sector, serving major government and corporate clients many of whom are currently in the middle of a digital revolution as their relationships with their customers are fundamentally transformed by the Internet age. He both leads Gartner as an organisation, and delivers advisory services as a highly experienced and innovative CIO. He is a Fellow of both BCS and IET, a Chartered IT Professional and a Chartered Engineer.
