A presentation by Dr Tim King, Principal Consultant, Information Management Analytic Solutions at the Babcock International Group on: “A framework for systemic and systematic data quality”

  • introduction to a proposed framework to sit at the heart of ISO 8000, which is the international standard for data quality and has to date been a diverse collection of different parts
  • how the framework puts all the parts of ISO 8000 into a coherent overall approach and enables users of the standard to select which parts are relevant to a particular issue
  • how the framework builds on the core capabilities of ISO 9000 to underpin a holistic, systematic approach to data quality, appropriate for all types of data and all types of information and communications technology
  •  how the framework focuses on computer-processable data specifications as an essential step in ensuring data meet requirements
  • how any organization can exploit the framework in creating solutions to ensure the right individuals across the organization are able to make the right decisions at the right time in all processes because data meet requirements.
