Changes to Membership

People working in an office environment

BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT is committed to making IT good for society. We have always used the power of our network to bring about positive and tangible change. As technology has proliferated the stakes have got higher. We need to lead the debate through our members, but also go beyond to ensure we are informed, open and meaningful.

We will also give the means for us all to make IT good for society through tools, ideas, inspiration, information, events, networks, partnerships and communities.

We all need to stand up and be counted to ensure we are true to our Royal Charter, our duty of care to society.

How your membership fee is being re-invested

In order for us to make positive change and continue to build on our successes, we have had to increase the financial contribution our members make and 1 May saw a 2% increase on our membership subscriptions. We are:

  • Reinvesting back into the IT industry by creating new products and services for members and organisations to enable them to make IT good for society.
  • Enhancing the member experience through new technology and platforms.
  • Networking opportunities through new events to share opinion and create debate.
  • Creating engaging and thought leading content.
  • Creating partnerships through Membership and BCS communities.

We want everyone to stand up and be counted to ensure we are true to our Royal Charter, our duty of care to society.
