Dr Christopher Ireland FBCS CITP, MCMI CMgr

Dr Ireland is an independent consultant and PRINCE2 practitioner who wrote his first computer program in his early teens, was hooked and joined the BCS Young Computer Enthusiasts. Some decades later he still relishes the (infrequent) opportunity of a good programming exercise although these days he manages projects that deal with the challenges that arise when software systems must work together.

A strong advocate of life-long learning and continued professional development, Dr Ireland holds both a PhD in Computing and an MBA. He is a Chartered Fellow of the BCS, Chair of the Registration and Standards Committee and a committee member of the Bedford Branch. He is also a member of the University of Bedfordshire Industry Liaison Panel, a visiting researcher with the Open University Department of Computing, a chartered member of the Chartered Management Institute (CMI), a member of both the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) and the National Museum of Computing (TNMOC) at Bletchley Park, and Chair of the International Conference on Fundamentals and Advances in Software Systems Integration (FASSI).
