AGM

Come and participate in our North Staffs Branch AGM. The agenda for which will include a short introduction/welcome, apologies from any absent committee members, a quick review of previous AGM minutes with an opportunity to address any matters arising, reports from the current committee regarding the year's activities and finances, the election of committee members, and any other business.

The minutes from our previous AGM can be found on our branch website. Should you wish to volunteer for or nominate any members for committee positions, you may do so in person at the meeting or by email to the branch Chair no later than Fri 9th Sept. Notification of "any other business" items wishing to be raised at the AGM should also be sent to the branch Chair no later than Fri 9th Sept. Admission of items not so notified at the AGM will be at the discretion of the Chair.

"The Technology Seems to Work - So What?" - Jim Davies will be speaking on the subject of and aims to demystify for us ITIL and IT Service Management.

Jim Davies is a hugely experienced consultant and trainer in IT service management having spent over 40 years involved in the development and management of IT systems. He is a champion of the best practice guidance published in the IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) and works with business partners to address the practical challenges of translating that guidance into reality. Jim was a logistician in the Royal Air Force for over 25 years, leaving in the rank of Squadron Leader, and subsequently held senior management roles in local government and then for six years in the commercial sector.

Jim was for three years the Chairman of the itSMF Midlands and East Anglia Regional Group, is a frequent presenter at conferences and seminars, and was the itSMF UK Trainer of the Year in 2013.

He is a fully accredited ITSM tutor, was one of the first to be awarded the status of 'ITIL Expert' and is a qualified ISO/IEC 20000 consultant and SDI trainer. He is a full member of the British Computer Society, the Chartered Management Institute, the Institute of Consulting, the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, as well as being a Distinguished Professional in the priSM Institute.
