It's a fact: DevOps and cloud are joined at the hip and as such, it's easy to attribute the rise of DevOps directly to the rise of cloud computing. After all, cloud computing also assumes continuously updated applications and infrastructure. Thus, many enterprises are looking at DevOps as the path to their cloud strategy.

When it comes to implementing DevOps in concert with the cloud, there are many factors to consider....

Leading consultancy Infinity Works will talk about this in more detail, whilst sharing some real life stories on the challenges of migrating to the Cloud and the new DevOps toolsets being used for delivery of products and services on the Cloud.

We are then pleased to welcome case study presentations from firstly Keith Watson from Ordnance Survey, who will talk about the DevOps initiative at Ordnance Survey. Keith will describe how they implemented an “infrastructure as code” model as part of this initiative and how they are now using these new patterns and skills when provisioning to the Cloud. Keith will also touch on the challenges they faced in terms of culture, politics, attitudes, skills and process and the significant business benefits and cost savings they’ve realised.

This will be followed by a presentation from Alan Morgans from Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency who will talk about their Digital Transformation Journey with specific focus on delivering successful digital business transformation in government, understanding service design for agile delivery at scale, agile governance for delivering individual services and overcoming the challenges of building DevOps aligned capability in government.
