Successful cyber-attacks are rarely out of the news, and each time the victim organisation expresses surprise and says they take security seriously. Perhaps they do and thought they had created a secure system with appropriate security procedures, but still the bad guys got in.

Understanding how systems can be penetrated and misused and security controls bypassed is a different skill set to that required to build and maintain them. Furthermore, planned controls and procedures may not have been effectively implemented. Penetration testing enables organisations to find the weaknesses and vulnerabilities in their systems and procedures before the bad guys do.

Penetration Testing means different things to different people, and this talk will cover the different types of penetration testing services available, and if you commission one, how to make sure it delivers what your organisation needs.
