Details:

Teams often to struggle to integrate design and research into continuous delivery. The units of delivery (the epic, the story) and the rhythm (the sprint) are often subtly incompatible. UX designers and information architects think in a much more user-centric mode than the delivery-centric approaches we've evolved to help us deliver software predictably and to a high quality.

So, what would it look like if we took some of the systems thinking approaches and mindsets of DevOps and continuous everything and applied them to design?

About the speaker:

Simon Bostock is a product lead, service designer and UX architect working as an associate on software development and transformation projects with Equal Experts.

Recent work has been on award-winning Government Digital Service 'exemplar' projects (Home Office, HMRC, HMPO), as well as work in developing product and design capability in young continuous delivery environments with organisations in the finance and travel industries.

He has a passion for work in 'continuous everything' agile teams and is currently working on developing a transdisciplinary community of delivery specialists interested in the theme of 'DevOps mindset for designers' (working title: ExOps).
