Gaining Control over your Enterprise’s Modelling Environment?

In this session, we will explore the development of a modelling profile incorporating concepts from Business and Enterprise Architecture and Agile Project Management. We will then see how the profile was leveraged to establish processes to promote elements from the planning phase to the implementation phase. Included will be a look at some of the patterns used within the profile to efficiently handle the tagged values and relationships that elements’ metatypes can inherit from their parent metatypes.

About Terry Merriman:

Terry Merriman is the President and Chief Architect of OAD Consulting, Inc. He has over thirty years in software development and founded OAD in 2000 to provide consulting and training services in the enterprise architecture space. He has consulted with fortune 500 companies in the US and Europe, providing training, on the job mentoring, and consulting services on multi-million dollar projects. For the past sixteen years, he has worked with clients to create architectural principles and guidelines along with supporting toolsets to make designing systems that conform to the principles and guidelines the easiest path to take. The result of this effort is Model Guardian, a profile and model management extension to Sparx System’s Enterprise Architect. Mr. Merriman first developed Model Guardian in 2005 and has continued to enhance it with new features that have been directly applied to OAD consulting engagements.
