This role acts as our in-house creative designer responsible for designing visual solutions in support of our marketing activity and objectives. The post-holder is our in-house design authority and is involved in any internal design project from inception through to final production. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to support with briefing external marketing agencies and oversee design elements of campaigns.

Key responsibilities

  • Conceptualise and create visual solutions for a wide range of marketing materials for both print and online. Analyses and inputs to design briefs and provides expertise and creative input from inception stage to final production;
  • Creates and manages templates/filters/artwork files for marketing literature, advertisements, reports and online creative assets (e.g. imagery for social media and our website);
  • Liaises closely with the marketing team (and wider business stakeholders where appropriate) to present proposed solutions, review feedback and make adjustments/amends as required. Supports the marketing group in making modifications and adjustments to our existing marketing collateral and creative assets;
  • Provides expertise to support the briefing of external suppliers/agencies for outsourced services including design and printing. Liaises with external suppliers/agencies to ensure quality of work fits our standards, guidelines and expectations;

Skills, qualifications and knowledge

Education and qualifications

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent experience
  • GCSE A-C in English or equivalent


  • Proven graphic design experience
  • Demonstrable graphic design skills with a strong portfolio
  • Proven experience working within a studio/agency environment would be an advantage (but not essential)

  • Strong technical design skills - using appropriate tools and methods to produce great outputs

  • Resilient with confidence and handling feedback and ideas
  • Good under pressure and working to tight deadlines across multiple priorities
  • Good presentation skills - able to present ideas confidently


  • Up to date with industry leading software and technologies (in particular the Adobe product stack of InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop etc)
  • Knowledge of pre-press printing processes an advantage - e.g. PDF for print, pre-flighting etc
  • Strong skills in photographic retouching and image manipulation
  • Knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite
