Paul Vlissidis

Paul Vlissdis, Technical Director - Senior Advisor  Paul is a technical director with NCC Group and a senior advisor where he engages with boards and senior leadership advising on holistic approaches to cyber resilience. He is one of the founders of NCC Group’s Technical Security Consulting division and started NCC Group's penetration testing team in 1997. He held the role of CISO at NCC Group for five years and was responsible for the Group’s physical and cyber security.

Paul's experience and insight with regards the challenges faced by organisations in the blended space of cyber security and risk is second to none. With over 20 years of experience in the cyber security industry, He has extensive experience working with high-threat-club and high-assurance organisations including managing classified environments. Paul advises a number of boards on cyber risk. 

Prior to joining NCC Group, Paul gained deep experience in the nuclear industry around safety critical system design and implementation. He regularly lectures on cyber security undergraduate and masters programmes at several universities, is a strong advocate of professionalisation and standards in the security industry and was a founding member of the security testing industry body CREST (Council of Registered Ethical Security Testers).

Paul is a regular public speaker, thought leader and accomplished communicator on enterprise risk, cyber security and physical security and has commented extensively to national print and broadcast media. He leads the cyber team for the popular and well-reviewed Hunted series on Channel 4

Paul’s presentation will provide an overview of how to tell if you are being cyber stalked or hacked and will focus on;

  • What online behaviours attract stalkers and hackers?
  • What would the real-world impact of an attack be?
  • How to easily reduce the threat of hacking and cyber stalking.
  • How to tell if someone is stalking or hacking you.

Jennie WilliamsJennie Williams - Cyber Protect Officer at TITAN, the North West Regional Organised Crime Unit.  Her role involves working with business, education and the general public to raise awareness of the potential risk and impact of Cyber Crime along with the simple steps that can be taken to prevent becoming a victim. Jennie’s presentation will be on what the Police, locally, regionally and nationally are doing to tackle Cyber Crime and on the latest advice and guidance.

Car Parking:
Free parking: The nearest car park to the Business School is the John Dalton car park underneath the Mancunian Way. The car park is accessed south off Chester Street, M1 5GD, and is located close to the back entrance of the Business School. Drive towards the south of the car park, underneath the Mancunian Way, park up, and enter the Business School via the rear entrance between buildings 5 and 6 on the campus map. There are 12 designated disabled parking spaces. The spaces are clearly marked and have sufficient width to allow wheelchair users to get in and out of their vehicles. All of the John Dalton car park is on one level smooth surface on the ground floor.

Travel Options to the Business School:
The Business School is situated just off Oxford Road on the Manchester Campus (All Saints). The closest railway station is Manchester Oxford Road, which is 0.3 miles away. Manchester Piccadilly Railway Station is 0.9 miles away and Manchester Victoria is 2 miles. Taxis can be pre-booked through Radio Cars, who also have wheelchair accessible taxis. Their contact number is 0161 236 8033. There are taxi ranks outside each railway station and the nearest drop off point at the Business School is either Ormond Street or Cambridge Street, close to the Business School entrance.
