Office 365 has made tremendous advances over recent years since its introduction as Microsoft’s Cloud platform. SharePoint online alone has seen many new features and functions released at a rapid rate through Office 2010, 2013 and now 2016. As exploitation of the public cloud has exploded, organisations, particularly commercial companies have shifted to Office 365.

This session will provide an opportunity to hear about real world experiences from project managers in using O365 and discuss issues with those attending who are using SharePoint Online and we will offer some insights to help those thinking of adopting SharePoint as a project management tool.

O365 provides an ideal platform for collaboration and document management, especially for mixed teams from within and outside an organisation. In the session, we will look at some of the benefits and tools now available to support project and programme managers and at some third-party vendors who have developed add-ons for Project management.

We will cover many O365 features including: - Project oriented workspaces - timelines, Planner and its ability to support agile methods. Groups and teams and how they support projects. Document management and project management libraries. Synchronisation with Excel and Microsoft project v Project Online and Third-party tools that provide PMO and portfolio Analysis tools.

We will endeavour to help you decide on the appropriate tool for different types of project and when not to use SharePoint workspaces.
