Back by demand, BCS will be hosting its third prestigious apprenticeship event for employers on 6 Feb London. Join over 250 senior professionals, employers, providers, government bodies and gain expertise under one roof from those responsible for apprenticeship policy, delivery and assessment.

  • 19:10 hrs - Lord Lucas, House of Lords - keynote
    Lord Lucas will share a little on his role with the digital policy alliance group (DPA) and their support to employers and the cyber security initiative he is involved in with groups of employers in Plymouth coming together to improve security through apprenticeships. Lord Lucas who is a key influence in government will share how the government is looking at different ways to use apprenticeships to fill the digital skills gap and his role in this.
  • 19:30 hrs - Dom Gill, Institute for Apprenticeships
    Dom will share a perspective of the employers digital apprenticeship panel responsible for digital trailblazers and their approach, their involvement in the IfA’s future plans and the expected increase from frameworks to the new apprenticeship standards.
  • 19:45 hrs - Anthony Impey, Federation of Small Businesses
    As Chair of the apprenticeship board and his connection with government, Anthony will talk about the importance of SMEs in the digital market and starting young people on a career in a digital career, the challenge finding the right type of people for these digital roles. Key to his address will be the levy challenge that SMEs are facing and how small businesses can engage with larger employers in the 10% supply chain coming into effect in 2018.
  • 20:00 hrs - John Pritchard, BCS, the Chartered Institute for IT
    Working closely with the EQA, IfA and eSFA, and in BCS’ EPA assessment role as a market leader for the new digital IT standards, John will provide the latest updates as the first EPA organisation in England to have completed the new digital standards, he will also cover the employer contracts that will be in place with EPA organisations in 2018.

  • 21:00 hrs - Drinks networking overlooking the River Thames
    Over a glass of wine, overlooking the Thames you will get an opportunity to network with training providers that have gone through Gateway and EPA sharing their knowledge and expertise with employers. If you are interested in degree level apprenticeships speak to representatives from Open University and our latest addition is Amazing Apprenticeships, an official government channel promoting apprenticeships into schools who will be on hand to advise how employers and providers can engage schools, of which is now a government requirement for those in involved in the recruitment and delivery of apprenticeships.
