Despite the GDPR being over 18 months since adoption by the EU, the UK Data Protection Bill 2017-19 is just commencing its 2nd reading in the House of Commons. With no official 'test' under UK law yet possible, organisations are understandably unsure of what may need to be done to 'comply' with new legislation. At this event we will share thoughts, opinions and experiences on issues connected with data protection and the GDPR compliance 'journey' for the mutual benefit of all in attendance, increasing awareness and understanding, encouraging preparation for readiness and sharing insights/strategies.

Discussion and debate will be led by Charlie Houston-Brown (RushKeep
Solutions) following an introduction to GDPR and the challenges this presents to I.T. professionals as organisations prepare to be as ready for compliance as they can for when the legislation is in force on 25th May 2018.

Charlie has previous, practical experience of compliance with the current BDSG data protection laws in Germany and has studied the GDPR to provide advice, guidance and questions for organisations seeking to be as compliant as feasible by the end of May 2018.
