Caroline and Peter recently co-authored “The Chief Data Officer’s Playbook” (15 Nov 2017), to provide insight into the mind of the Chief Data Officer, giving a practical, direct and engaging discussion of the role, its place and importance within organisations. This event will present an overview of the content, with responses to questions that have been raised including: “Why an organisation needs a CDO” and perspectives on the relationship with the Chief Information Officer. We can expect a lively and entertaining evening of value to those who currently are Chief Data Officers or those aspiring to be, working with, or acquiring a CDO.

Facet, the publishers, have kindly offered to make copies of “The Chief Data Officer’s Playbook” available to 2 lucky attendees.

About the speakers:

Caroline Carruthers is the first Group Director of Data Management for the Lowell Group, prior to which she was CDO for Network Rail. Caroline is a strong advocate of 'getting the basics right' and the KISS principle despite being a complete geek when it comes to any form of technology. As a trustee for CILIP (Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals) she champions the growing professionalism of the data and information-related disciplines so that we can all head towards data nirvana a little bit quicker. She describes herself as a “ridiculous optimist” with insatiable curiosity, which helps!
