Career opportunities for Women in the High-Tech Sectors

When: 13th Mar 2014, 09:15 - 13th Mar 2014, 13:00
Where: Room 1027, Building 67, Highfield Campus, Southampton University, University Road, Southampton, SO17 1BJ
Town/City: Southampton
Organiser: ICT KTN

The KTNs are concerned at their members’ needs to recruit qualified individuals to support and develop innovation activity, whilst there is a pool of talented, qualified and
highly-skilled people among women, including returners and those working outside the high-tech sectors.

The ICT KTN is leading a collaborative project with other KTNs: Creative Industries, Electronics/Sensors/Photonics, NanoTechnology and Materials to deliver a series of free
events to encourage and support women to return to, access or progress in the high-tech sectors.

Three live-streamed events in London, Sheffield and Southampton will give delegates and on-line viewers the opportunity to hear from women successfully making/
returning to careers, and to gather information on how to access potential roles in the high-tech sectors such as ICT, Science, Engineering and others enabled by technology.

The events will provide information on employment law, part-time and flexible working regulations and practices and work-shadowing opportunities, together with time for
group discussions and networking in a relaxed atmosphere.

Who Should Attend?

These events will appeal to women and men with experience and qualifications in science/technology who are currently outside the sector workforce and/or would like to use their skills and talent to better effect.

Each event will be videoed and streamed live across the web to enable access for those unable to attend the live events.
