Final entries sought for IT Service Manager of the Year Award

4 April 2003

Final entries are being accepted for the BCS IT Service Manager of the Year Award which seeks to reward excellence in IT Service Management.

The IT Service Manager Award is part of the coveted BCS IT Professional Awards, established to celebrate the achievements of the British IT industry. The closing date for entries is 17 April and winners can look forward to at a glittering Awards Gala Dinner at London's Park Lane Hilton in September.

The judges will be looking for a service manager or leader, who is able to demonstrate high levels of service delivery through well motivated and competent staff. Evidence of swift reactions to challenges and innovation are also important, as is the measurement of results and customer satisfaction.

Entering is straightforward: registration is followed by the completion of an entry form and short listed finalists will be required to make presentations to the judges. Representatives from the finalists will be invited to the Award's presentation before an audience of 700 IT professionals and other special VIP guests on 24 September.

According to BCS chief executive David Clarke,"The BCS IT Professional Awards will underline one of the BCS' key roles: to nurture and applaud the ingenuity and management success that has made the nation's IT industry a leading global player. They will also mark the vital contribution made by our IT profession to both the economy and to business and public services.'
