This is suitable for anyone interested in Green Computing, Computer Security & Environmental Regulations.

Arranging for the disposal of redundant IT equipment can be a daunting business for the un-initiated. The new WEEE regulations, a spate of highly publicised data losses and growing concern amongst users about where the equipment ends up have conspired to make this a subject that many IT professionals would prefer to have resting firmly at the bottom of their task list. The purpose of this session will be to dispell some of the myths and rumours and provide you with an insight into how the computer re-use and recycling industry operates in the UK and abroad.

Graham has worked in the IT industry for 15 years in both the public and private sectors. He is currently the co-owner of Weeely Useful Ltd, a firm that specialises in disposing of redundant IT equipment.

This event is free and open to non-BCS members.
