Description:
All IT projects, from the smallest-scale to major long-term implementations, benefit from formal project management. This presentation will see Bill Douglas, an IT Project Manager in the NHS, introduce the use of ‘PRINCE II’: the project management methodology for IT which is recognised as the standard in industry and the public sector.

Practical examples will illustrate PRINCE’s key processes and documents and how they counteract common pitfalls in IT projects such as specification creep, missed deadlines and compatibility issues.

This introductory talk is equally suited to those considering commissioning a project, participants in development teams and those looking to develop a career in this growing sphere of activity.
