With the advent of Micosoft's .NET framework, OO will play a greater part in developers' lives as it is a totally OO framework. Applications for the .NET framwork can be written in many different languages, so the focus of good application design becomes even more important

Joanna Carter discusses the principles of OO analysis and design: what it is, what it does and how it does it. She will discuss the advantages inherent in good software design and demonstrate established patterns for coding common scenarios.

Joanna is a Consultant Software Engineer whose work can take her anywhere in the world. Her work involves architecting systems and teaching OO principles and practice developers. She also writes regularly for the UK-BUG magazine and is presently writing a book on Design Patterns for Delphi.
