Top BCS names in Computer Weekly Tech 50 list

14 December 2011

BCS President Jim Norton, Trustee Board member Ken Olisa, OBE, and CEO David Clarke, MBE, all appear in Computer Weekly’s 2011 Tech 50; a list of the 50 most influential people in UK IT.

The list also features several high profile BCS members from leading organisations around the UK, plus BCS Distinguished Fellow Sir Tim Berners-Lee.

Jim Norton, BCS President said of being included on the list: 'I’m delighted to see BCS members among those featured in the list and in particular that the unstinting work of my colleagues and BCS members is being recognised. I think that the diversity of both individuals and organisations on this list shows the exceptional impact that IT has on our society today'.

Ken Olisa, OBE, BCS Trustee, Chairman of the Policy & Public Affairs Board and Chairman of Restoration Partners added: 'For far too long, the UK has been the IT industry's best kept secret. I very much welcome Computer Weekly's sterling efforts to address this problem by highlighting the deep talent that exists here and to move the public agenda away from the British obsession with project failures and onto the more uplifting realms of achievement and leadership.'
