Network Rail, Capital One (Europe) plc, BT plc, The Met Office and PA Consulting Group, The LateRooms Group and HM Revenue & Customs were among the winners of the 2012 UK IT Industry Awards run by BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT, and Computing. The winners were announced last night by comedian Ed Byrne at a glittering dinner at Battersea Park Events Arena.
David Clarke, MBE, Group Chief Executive Officer of BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT, said: “On behalf of BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT, I would like to congratulate all the winners, those who were highly commended and those who were finalists. Our Awards celebrate the professionalism and innovation that exists in the IT profession and demonstrates the extent to which IT is the enabler in so many businesses in the UK today. To qualify as a finalist is tremendous - to win one of our prestigious Awards is a fantastic achievement.”
The annual Awards provide a platform for the entire IT profession to celebrate best practice, innovation and excellence. In total 23 awards were presented covering project, organisation, technology and individual excellence, and included awards such as Security Innovation, Infrastructure Innovation, Business Project, Young IT Professional and CIO of the Year.
