Synopsis:

Simon will examine the history, evolution and future roadmap for mobile application development. He will cover some of the background and history of mobile application development, from the early days of WAP browsers and the development of the Symbian mobile operating system, through to the industry-changing iOS platform.

He will look at the similarities and differences between the major platforms that exist today, including Google's Android platform, iOS and Windows Phone 8. There will then be a discussion of some possible future developments in mobile application technology and what the 'next big thing' might be.
