There will be a finger buffet at 6.30, then the BCS Hampshire Branch AGM at 7pm, which will be  followed by the presentation, Big Data in the 3rd Platform - An Industrial Perspective of Big Data, by James T. Lewis (JT) Partner Sales Director Distribution, United Kingdom & Ireland. JT has responsibility for managing the Partner Distribution Supply Chain for the EMC UK&I Division The session discusses the 3rd Platform and how Big Data contributes to the transformation of the IT Industry. In addition to what the industry needs to do to address this expected growth and explosion in data It also addresses the reason Big Data is changing the way businesses make decisions and how the Internet of Everything is changing the way we live our lives, and the way industries go to market.

About the speaker

James T. Lewis (JT), Partner Sales Director Distribution, United Kingdom & Ireland

Jt.lewis@emc.com, has responsibility for managing the Partner Distribution Supply Chain for the EMC UK&I Division - primarily focused on sales, business development, and operational management. In addition to performing the associated regional tasks for this role, JT also participates on the Partner Sales Managers Leaders Team for the EMEA Distribution Team.

Prior to joining the UKI Division in January 2011 JT performed the role of Regional Practice Manager for the Department of Defense in the EMC Federal Residence Practice beginning in January 2007.

Before joining EMC, JT held technology leadership positions for the United States Army Europe Headquarters, in Heidelberg Germany ranging from Information Technology Operations to Governance and IT Security. In this role JT was responsible for IT Operations in Europe the Horn of Africa and throughout the Middle East.

Having spent over 15 years in the technology industry, JT has a variety of experiences in Multi-Site Technology Operations, Quality Performance Improvement, and Strategic & Operational Planning. He has been innovative in developing solutions for customers and organizations. While in the Federal Division he was instrumental in the growth of the practice helping them to achieve double digit growth for three consecutive years.

Since 2012 JT has been on the UK&I Channel Team as the Global Services Lead growing the services revenue to over $35M an improvement by $27M over the two year period. JT is a graduate of Troy State University in Troy, Alabama and various leadership academies with the US Army including, The Basic and Advanced Non-Commissioned Officers Leadership Courses. JT holds several Industry Certifications in Information Technology.
