Hosted by SFEDI and the Institute of Enterprise and Entrepreneurs (IOEE), working with the Government Equalities Office to run a UK wide roadshow of Meet a Mentor events designed specifically to support women business owners; in conjunction with BCSWomen and BCS Hampshire Branch.

Meet A Mentor is an event with a difference. You don’t attend to find a new client or supplier, (although both are a possibility), you attend either as a mentor, or to find a mentor who is willing to volunteer their time to support you and your business. As a mentor you'll also receive free access to an online mentor training course.

The event is to support female entrepreneurs but mentors can be male or female. The events bring together volunteer mentors and new and growing businesses with the aim of developing fruitful and supportive mentoring relationships.

The running order is as follows:

1.00pm - Arrival - Registration, refreshments, networking and review of the delegate list - the list includes a short description of each delegate therefore this is a useful time to read through and see if there's anyone you'd like to catch up with later in the day.

1.30pm - Welcome - The Mentoring Relationship - During this section we’re providing an overview of some things to consider when approaching a mentoring relationship. This is to get everyone on the same page and in the right frame of mind for the speed mentoring to come.

The Speedy Bit - We want you to meet and chat with as many new contacts as possible at the event, therefore here we’ll be facilitating some speed mentoring to help you develop a potential new mentoring relationship. We'll give you a mentoring record sheet so that you can record the names and notes of those you meet. Please note that we are not matching you with specific people, this is just an opportunity to meet with businesses that might be of interest once you find out more about them.

Networking, making connections and refreshments - This is where you can catch up with people you're particularly interested in connecting with on the delegate list and gather the details of those people you’d like to make contact with after the event. We will also provide information on other useful ways you can meet mentors or find mentoring opportunities and other sources of support for businesses.

4.00pm - Close
