Details:

The discussion will cover STEMNET national projects, their aims and goals, and how members can become involved. They will also discuss the Black Country Project - what is being done locally in the BC to support the sciences in education, and will also highlight the Amazing STEM Careers available to prospective students, including an outline of an interactive careers package used in schools and colleges.

The discussion will end with how members can support STEM objectives and get involved in the project (only if they want too!)

Throughout we will draw links to the interests of members.

We have 450 Stem Ambassadors working in the BC and it will be great to share the successes of the project and what else we are planning.

Brian and Ian are Directors at a small education projects business working in the West Midlands on a range of STEM, European (we are currently working on a NEET project with Sandwell, Eire, Spain, Hungary and the Czech Republic) ;and Post 16 projects. We write bids for schools and charities and have also worked in Prisons and on Health and Equality & Diversity projects.

We were both previously Curriculum Advisers working in Sandwell. Brian has a very strong background in Careers and IAG with senior roles in Connexions in Birmingham and Humberside.

Ian has senior management experience in Sixth Forms and is a Principal Examiner for an AQA Science and Technology A Level paper. More information can be found at www.ses13-19.org. You can also follow us on Twitter at @ses1319
