Distinguished Fellow is the highest award made by BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT. It is awarded to individuals who have made “notable service to the advancement of computing”.
We consider “advancement” to include not only technology but also the BCS’s own mission of Making IT Good for Society. BCS receives nominations from a wide cross section of members and awarded Fellowships to Professor Steve Furber in 2014 and Dame Wendy Hall DBE and Martha Lane-Fox, Baroness Lane-Fox of Soho CBE in 2016.
Awards of this calibre enhance the reputation of BCS, by association with such world class figures from our industry and ensure it continues to be a much sought after award.
The nomination process is now closed.
