Fayyaz RehmanFayyaz Rehman is an Associate Professor in the School of Maritime Science and Engineering at Southampton Solent University (UK). He graduated in Mechanical Engineering from the University Of Engineering and Technology (Pakistan) in 1995. He has over five years industrial experience of working as a mechanical/structural designer both in UK and overseas. In 2000, he obtained his MSc in Computer Aided Engineering Design from the University of Strathclyde (UK) and PhD from the same university in 2006. He has over 20 years of experience in teaching and research in the fields of engineering design and manufacture both in UK and overseas. He worked on both nationally and internationally funded projects in collaboration with other universities of the world. He has over 30 research publications and his research interests are Life Cycle Based Design Analysis, CAD/CAM/CAE, Advanced Manufacturing Techniques especially Additive Manufacturing Techniques and their applications.

He is a Fellow of Higher Education Academy, UK, a Chartered Engineer from Engineering Council and a Fellow of Institution of Engineering Designers, UK.
