The Presentation
Following the Information Commissioner's report to Parliament, 'What Price Privacy', which calls for custodial sentences for certain Data Protection Act offences, the time has come for organizations to revisit the issue of DPA compliance.
Stewart Room, author of the new BCS book Data Protection and Compliance in Context reveals how achieving compliance with the Data Protection Act requires an 'intelligent' processing environment where the information lifecycle is properly understood.
The core compliance goals within the DPA are identified and explained, new and current enforcement strategies are revealed and future amendments and policies are highlighted. The role played by information technology within the compliant environment is also discussed.
