This session focuses on a new IT-Enabled Business Change lifecycle and examines how to successfully manage the different stages. Dr Manwani will review the contrasting mindsets and approaches of IT and Business Change.
He will summarise the results of his research with leading CIOs including their recruitment policies in this area. Finally he will build on current theory and practice to recommend how organisations and individuals develop their capability in IT-Enabled Business Change.
Dr Sharm Manwani is an Associate Professor at Henley Management College where he is the Program Director of a major corporate programme in Enterprise Information Management.
Sharm held European CIO roles at two leading multinationals while completing his MBA and DBA at Henley Management College. During this period he led a number of international IT-enabled change programmes supporting mergers, restructuring, business process redesign and key account management.
Sharm is a Fellow of BCS and a Judge for major computing awards. He consults with major companies on IT Leadership, Strategy and IT-Enabled Change.
The event will be held with coffee from 5.30pm (for a 6.15pm start) on Monday 22 September 2008. After the presentation, there will be a question and answer session. The talk and Q&A will last until 7.30pm (with no admittance for late-comers).
This will be followed by refreshments, which will provide a more relaxed opportunity to meet the speaker and others attending the meeting until 8.45pm. The event will cost £10 for BCS Members, and £15 for non-members. Booking is essential.
