After finding this item buried in my dead tree copy of The Guardian, I looked around for a few more reports.
According to ITPro: "...I believe more work is now needed to ensure that the Connecting for Health programme delivers real clinical benefits, and I will be considering in the second stage of my Review how best to achieve this," said Darzi in the report."
See also this report for a similar discussion on ComputerWorldUK.
Lord Darzi's report is available at the DoH wesbite ('Our NHS Our future: NHS next stage review - interim report'):

The news is also reported on E-health Insider.
Strangely, nothing that I can see on the CfH website - funny, that.
While a number of commentators make the point that this may not be the full review that many have called for, it is a start. After all, the rhetoric from CfH and others we have been hearing in recent months has all been about improving patient safety and patient benefits.

Leave CommentSomeone needs to review this. I have never worked anywhere before where email takes precedence on the network over a system used for day to day work and where routine maintenance work is carried out between 8.30 and 11.30 on a friday morning so we have no clinical system to view patient records on.
