Open source and healthcare conference

The BCS, through its Health Informatics Forum, is hosting a two-day conference on Open Source and Healthcare in Europe. This will take place on 9-11 September 2008 at the BCS London offices.

This year's Special Topic Conference of EFMI, the European Federation for Medical Informatics (www.efmi.org), is being organised by the BCS Health Informatics Forum, together with several international groups with direct involvement in open source and free software in health informatics.

Registration is open for the event, which takes place at the BCS Meeting Rooms in Southampton Street, London - full information, together with booking form, is available through the website at www.chirad.info/efmi_stc. The programme is currently being finalised and will be available soon - but the conference will explore the current and future issues related to open source in healthcare. In particular, there will be a focus on health records, ubiquitous computing, knowledge sharing, and current and future applications.

The EFMI STC is also being held in conjunction with the Board and Council meetings of EFMI.
