The next SIGiST (BCS Specialist Interest Group in Software Testing) conference will be held on Wednesday 17th June 2009 at the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in London. This is a very worthwhile conference to learn, improve your skills and network with other organisations and testers. The conference will be preceded by a brief AGM. Please see the 'Conferences' section of the SIGIST website for the AGM Notice: www.sigist.org.uk. Our theme for June is "Who Practices the Testing Theory?" and the talks are all from people with very many practical ideas and experiences of software testing. Feedback from our delegates over many conferences has suggested that these talks which provide practical hints and tips based on real people's experiences are the most useful of all the sessions we have delivered. The full agenda and registration details can be found at www.sigist.org.uk. Presentations include:- * Michael Bolton - Developsense, Canada - opening keynote speaker - 'Two Futures of Software Testing' * Lloyd Roden - Grove Consultants - afternoon keynote speaker - 'Top Ten Controversies in IT today' * Mark Crowther - NMQA - 'Pragmatic testing - the middle way' * Tim Hunter - Independent Consultant - 'What the Black Box Tester didn't see' * Nigel Kneill / Amy Phillips - Guardian.co.uk - 'Successful Agile Development with 100 people' The full day conference is £100 (exc VAT) for BCS members and £110.00 (exc VAT) for non members. This includes lunch and handouts, as well as the day's exhibitors. There is also a reduced rate for full time students. To register please visit www.sigist.org.uk.
