China remains as the country that hosts the highest number of websites with malware, according to security software company Sophos.
A full 54.9 per cent of infected web pages are hosted by China, research conducted by Sophos recently found.
Behind China is the US, which hosts 17.1 per cent of websites with malware, closely followed by Russia, with 14.4 per cent.
Carole Theriault, senior security consultant at Sophos, said: 'Ukraine
stands out as a country with a disproportionate number of infected webpages.
'This is likely to be a result of a lack of IT education and available resource to tackle web based malware.'
The profile of cybercrime should be raised by Ukrainian authorities via legislation and education, Ms Theriault added.
Meanwhile, a jailed Chinese hacker has been the subject of a deluge of job offers.
Li Jun, who created the notorious Fujacks worm, has had more than ten offers of employment once he is released from prison, his lawyer stated.
