IT services and consulting firm Accenture has come in at the top spot in the International Association of Outsourcing Professionals' (IAOP) Global Outsourcing 100 list.

This is the second consecutive year that the company has been named number one in the list, which has been designed to support organisations in selecting outsourcing providers.

Candidates are judged according to 18 criteria including achievements, references, size and capabilities.

Kevin Campbell, group chief executive of outsourcing at Accenture, said: 'Accenture is extremely honoured to be recognised once again by the IAOP as the best outsourcing provider in the world.

'This ranking is a reflection of the hard work and dedication of the 85,000 Accenture men and women around the world who provide outsourcing services that can help our clients improve their business performance, create new business value and innovate to stay ahead of the marketplace.'

Accenture was established in 1989 and now serves clients in around 120 countries across the world.
